Holy Smokes ... An update !!!!

So I've recently been employed by a local marketing company and have been pretty busy with work. 

So I think it's about time that I uploaded my Final Project !!

Long time no see !

Hello! I am still alive. I seriously have neglected this little blog of mine but that is going to change! 

I have now graduated with a BA hons in Animation and are now looking to get a job somewhere. 

For those of you who read my last post I said I would upload everything that I have done for my FMP so that is what I am going to do.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys and gals but I'm up to my neck in Uni work , trying to sort out all of my current FMP and getting it ready to be printed as a book by next Monday... so again sorry for the lack of updates but as soon as that's out the way i'll update you with everything I have done leading up to my mini deadline that I have given myself .

Early post

I'm going to be super busy tomorrow with sorting out turnarounds and finishing off business studies so I'm going to post early.

So for business studies (as most of you will know), I have to do an ultimate image, I did one or two sketches but I didn't like them, then why don't I do something thrones related (as most of my work is right now).

But! instead of having the throne made of out swords, why don't I make it out of wacom pens and I drew up the initial sketch and it worked quite well.

What I was planning to do then was to make it like the promo for the first season of GoT but have my character designs from all three years around the top of me . At first I thought it looked quite good but on closer inspection it looked messy and cluttered so I took the characters out.

And then I ended up with the bad boy below, there are a few gaps in the throne, so me and James came up with the idea that every time I beat someone at an art rap battle (or something along those lines) their wacom pens become part of my throne so there's plenty of room to try and beat more people and add their pens to my throne MWAHAHAHA!!

So like I said before, there will be no updates tomorrow as I'll be a very busy bee

Update is coming

Apologies for the lack of updates, my family and uni work have been keeping me busy .

So anyway for my final project I have to do a personal project which can be on anything you want and so my initial idea for it was to do a guide to surviving CA211 and animation, and make it into a sort of comic strip of survival tips. I drew a few suggestions and I couldn't generate any good imagery for them so I scrapped that Idea (well put it in the archive of idea's to do in the future) 

So what should I do for my personal project?

Well a few months back I drew Jon Snow and Robb Stark like this 

So I thought why not do the rest of the family and that's what I set off to do and here is the finished piece

Anyway as it didn't take me long to do these so I thought I would do the other Major houses in Game of Thrones such as House Lannister and House Targaryen. So look forward to seeing them in the future

CAPTAIN ! UPDATE DATE AHEAD !!!

I think I need to make more update puns for these posts of mine but anyway this week I'll be showcasing Bunny's designs and also an animatic and storyboard that I've been working on.

Like I said in my last post I seriously need to update more often and so that I what I am going to do, so every Thursday expect an update. 

So I showed you some concepts and the story line so I bet your all wanting to know what else I have done for this project ?

Life drawing session!

So every wednesday afternoon I scamper off to do some life drawing with some other students from animation.

 This week we looked at drapery and we also had a ballerina in and she was awesome !!!

 

 

These were some 2minute sketches with the model in different positions using the fabric that she had with her.

 

most of these were done with a brush pen and it was really good practice for how fabric falls in this session and I'm really looking forward to next weeks session when we have a large model come in :)

 

MAJOR PROJECT AHOY !!!!

I seriously need to get my act together when it comes to weekly updates for this blog of mine... but any who, guess who got a 1st in their pre-production?

t'was me !!!

I walked away with 70% in my project which I wasn't expecting because I thought I would get something like 67% or something like that because I felt I did hardly anything good for it (especially the initial design stuff) but woo hoo !! hope I can get another 1st for this project. 

So for this new project I'm designing stuff for a game that I've come up with. It took blasted ages to get an idea of what I wanted to do but it wasn't until I was returning from a shopping trip with a Starbucks in hand, and my trusted companion and friend Jason beside me that the idea of having kabuki masked skater thieves came about and began to take form.

 

Pre - Major Project PART 2

This is part 2 of my Pre-Major project 

For the project I thought of doing 2 characters. Gerty was the first to be designed and I thought that it would be good to have a male character. 

I wanted to stick to the same engineer theme and so I stuck with that. 

 

These were the initial designs for Kaiden and I just messed about with different types of outfits and hairstyles. I did look a lot at mass effect and also designs that have been uploaded on pinterest . 

Pre-Major Project PART 1

Wow didn't realise that I haven't posted anything in nearly three months and I should really start getting my backside in gear when it comes to updating.

So anyhow here is some recent work from my completed character Design Project!!

As you can see the name of the show that I designed for this project is called 'Treasure Seekers' 

After affect Project

Apologies for being inactive for the past few weeks.

So as the title suggests I had a project that had something to do with after effects.

For the project we had to do a 30second pitch for a local charity.

I chose Macmillan Cancer support as alot of people see Macmillan as just nurses but they do alot more than that and so i wanted to outline what they do and what people can do to support them. 

Flash Project

Flash project !!!!

Sorry for the lack of activity but I am back doing my final year of university.

So for my new first project I had to create a Google Doodle using Flash.

At first I was like 'no i am not going to use flash' but a few tutorials and tests later me and Flash have been getting along just fine.

My Idea for the Google Doodle was a to have a Halloween themed doodle. 

 

This was my idea for the google doodle. 

I did a redesign of the G where it was more blocky and less sock like. 

 

 Here is the Finished Google doodle. I did have some trouble with the doodle itself where if you didn't click on the broom none of the animations would work so I had to scrap that idea

Call the Midwife - Title Sequence Animatic

For the other half of my project I had to create a pitch animatic for a title sequence.... It took me a while to get my head around what I wanted to do but after speaking to Nikki I thought that I would redo the title sequence for Call the Midwife

 For my Major project I had to collaborate with some 2d animators in my class.

So I was approached by Julia and Jason and was given the task of doing some of there backgrounds

Major Project - TV Show Redesign

So as I said before... I'm redesigning the characters of call the midwife 

and so here are some designs that I have done and currently working on 

  These are some initial designs that I did at the beginning of the project and as I drew them all I thought .... 'these look boring' and another thought popped into my head 'why not make them into dolls?' and so that's where these little designs came from

For this challenge I had to drop my characters into a photograph that I took myself but the brief was slightly confusing because one tutor was saying one thing and a tutor was saying another.

For this challenge I had to go to the museum and chose some objects that I wanted to make into character. After about 3 visits to the museum I chose what object I wanted to make into a character.

Week 2 Project challenge

For my second challenge I had 6 theme's where I had to draw 12 drawings for each them.

Six of them I had to draw six of them from my imagination and another six from reference.
